About me:
I'm a life long West Michigan resident and GRCC alumni. I'm a husband and a dad who's lucky to have 2 great kids, one of whom has already attended GRCC. I'm a veteran and was able to use my veteran's benefits to graduate from GRCC's HVAC program. That degree helped to enhance my occupation as a plumber/pipe fitter, a career I've enjoyed for the last 10 years.
Why I'm Running
GRCC is one of the cornerstones of our community and we're lucky to have it. That having been said, here are 3 priorities which made me want to get more involved:
1. GRCC needs to remain an onramp to marginalized and disadvantaged communities. We need to focus our programing in that direction.
2.GRCC needs to be an equitable resource for all stakeholders in the community. We need to remove barriers and make GRCC open to all.
3. As Michigan in general and West Michigan in particular faces population decline, we need to ensure that GRCC is an attractive destination for students and faculty alike.
